ABOUT ME


LEVEL: Form 2 (intermediate level)

TIME : 40 minutes

AIMS : To make the students practice writing description about oneself and practice writing electronic testimonial to friends and family through a social networking websites by using appropriate adjectives.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT:

One computer with pair of students, with Internet connection and Web browser.

PREPARATION :

1) Locate sites that offer free social networking account that suitable for students aged below 15 years old.
2) Check sites before lesson.


PROCEDURE

1) Students required to log on to www.friendster.com
2) Then the students are required to sign up for Friendster account and follow on the further instructions on the registration
3) After registration, students are required to access to edit profile section. In this section, the students are required to fill up on their profile, which includes on their favorite TV shows, movies and etc.
4) Teacher asked to students to focus on About Me section, where the students are required to describe on themselves. Teacher instructed to write at least 7 sentences using as a many adjectives as they can. Students are required to count how many adjectives that they use to describe themselves. Then they will save their profile on their account.
5) The next activity is to write testimonial on the student’s partner profile. Students are required to click their partner profile and write a simple testimonial using appropriate adjectives.
6) As for the follow up activity, the students to choose one adjective that best described themselves and write an essay at least 150 words, on why they choose the particular adjective.
